Ministry of Statistics and  Programme Implementation is celebrating “Swachhta Pakhwada” from Ist July,2023 to 15th July,2023 under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The celebration would be pan India including all field offices of MoSPI as a part of above said abhiyaan.
                  Accordingly, National Sample Survey Office Chandigarh celebrated “Swachhta Abhiyaan” on 10th July, 2023 under the leadership of Sh. Kailash G. Sharma DDG, RO Chandigarh to create awareness and on different subjects of “Swachhta Pakhwada” such as cleanliness drive in public place, conservation of water bodies, sanitation, health / hygiene and environment in Chandigarh. On the occasion a series of activities were undertaken by NSSO, Chandigarh.
                      The day began with cleanliness drive being carried out at Sukhna Lake followed by plantation activities at the premises of Kendriya Sadan . Then, a drive was undertaken to clean public convenience at Sector-9. A canopy was staged at Sector 26 Grain Market for distribution of biodegradable bags. On this occasion, Millets were distributed in biodegradable bags to generate awareness among the public on its daily life and to promote good health and diet.
                        To promote awareness on importance of Health /hygiene in public, kit items (Sanitizer, Mask etc.) were distributed to visitors of GMCH-32.
                        This day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the staff of   RO Chandigarh. Activities like Road Show, Cleanliness drive, Plantation, Cleaning of Public Conveniences, distribution of biodegradable bags and Millets were held. Approximately 55 Officers/Officials, with full zeal celebrated this day. The celebration attracted general public and was seen to be a grand success. Public opined that such type of activities should be carried out in future also.
